What is Driftworks...
Driftworks is a newly established ambient music label, set up by UK based artist Andrew Heath as a home for lower-case, ambient and minimal music.
Andrew has been working closely as a designer with Harry Towell who operates Whitelabrecs, which for several years now, has been a beacon for ambient and neo-classical music here in the UK, attracting a huge range of artists from across the world.
Andrew and Harry aim to continue and develop this close relationship through the Driftworks label which they see as being a 'sister label' to Whitelabrecs.
Driftworks aims to present immersive and beautiful work from artists that specialise in soundscape, experimental electronic and electro/acoustic music, often containing fragmentary melodies and field recordings. Releases will explore hand-made, limited special edition CDs for our artists often containing booklets, ephemera and other delightful objects.
Andrew has been releasing music for many years both as a solo artist on labels including Disco Gecko, Dronarivm and Whitelabrecs and in collaboration with other musicians such as Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Anne Chris Bakker and Mi Cosa de Resistance however, he owes everything to Toby Marks (Banco de Gaia) and Jasper Edwards who believed in him enough to start this journey.
